Still busy with through and local services, with Devon and Cornwall services diverging from the Great Western main line, as well as the reversal of Bournemouth line services to and from the north.

This simulation is set at Reading General, an important junction on the Great Western Main Line from London Paddington to South Wales and the West Country (Devon and Cornwall)
At the time of this simulation most services to or from London Paddington were operated by HSTs. There are also some loco-hauled trains on some of the long distance inter-regional trains.
Network South-East services are mostly DMUs, there are also frequent NSE services to London Waterloo and Guildford (via Ascot) which are worked by S.R. EMUs (CIGs and VEPs)
The station is seen on a summer Saturday in 1989. Most freight and a number of relief passenger services operate only depending on the traffic available. You have to direct all the trains in and out, selecting platforms to avoid delays and minimise congestion. You will have to plan how to use the available platforms to avoid conflicts between arrivals and departures, and adjustments will be needed when arrivals are running late.
