First is a Line Control simulation set in 1939, the second by Bob Fairbrother, following on his Somerset & Dorset line simulation released last year. This one is bigger, with no less than six main screens, and is Gold Series. There are also several new simulations covering specific locations on the M&GN system, set in 1952. Melton Constable and Yarmouth Beach will be available initially, and South Lynn will be available at the beginning of June. Cromer Beach will follow, probably about the beginning of July, and will be announced on our web site and in Rail when available. Finally, another Driver is now available, Midland Main Line 2 (1986), announced in Rail late last year.[12/MAY/00]
We now have three additional customers working on developing new simulations, and hope to have a bumper selection available for you over the next year or so. Further volunteers are always welcome![12/MAY/00]
Our usual seasonal offer is available at least until the end of 2000, and you may claim it now by quoting the code 00MS05. This will allow you to buy any four simulations and not pay for the cheapest one.[12/MAY/00]
Our Spring Newsletter is now here and will be mailed to existing customers by 15 May. It features the Midland & Great Northern Joint lines in East Anglia.[12/MAY/00]
There will be delays between 13-20 May, also 17-24 June, due to business trips away from the office. In each case any backlog should be cleared within a couple of days.[12/MAY/00]
SIAM will be closed over the Easter break, from 19 to 30 April inclusive. We expect any orders received during that period to be shipped by Tuesday 2 May. There will also be delays between 13-20 May and 17-24 June due to business trips away from the office.[18/APR/00]
Our Spring Newsletter will be posted here and mailed to existing customers in the first half of May. It will feature the Midland & Great Northern Joint lines in East Anglia.[18/APR/00]
Siam have moved their official web site to a new host. They offer their apologies for any temporary disruption that may occur as they get to know their way around the new host. They hope to be able to offer new features soon.[11/MAR/00]
Autumn 1999 newsletter released. Online version available[31/OCT/99]
The main news is that we have a big new steam era simulation set at March on the GN/GE joint line. March 1952 is Platinum, and includes the station, large shed (2 screens) and Whitemoor yards, with both weekday and Saturday schedules.[31/OCT/99]
A second steam era simulation gives you the chance to carry out the Control task for the entire Somerset and Dorset Joint Line between Bath and Poole, including the Highbridge branch. This is a Line Control simulation, but with several new features compared with previous ones in this series, and is the first by Bob Fairbrother, whom we welcome to the ranks of developers.[31/OCT/99]
There is also a new overseas simulation, Swedish Ore Line, covering a day's operations on the line between Kiruna and Bjornfjell in northern Sweden, continuing to the Norwegian port of Narvik. This is in the style of our American simulations, but with rather more passing loops than usual, to accommodate the heavy traffic.[31/OCT/99]
We had hoped to have another two Drivers ready, but unfortunately neither has quite made it through testing in time. As soon as they are available they will be announced here and in our regular advertisement in the earliest possible issue of Rail; we hope this will be in time for Christmas.[31/OCT/99]
4-for-the-price-of-3 offer - The usual seasonal offer is again announced in the Newsletter, and you may claim it now by quoting the code 99MS11. This will allow you to buy any four simulations and not pay for the cheapest. This time, as an experiment, the offer is open at least until the end of April 2000.[01/NOV/99]
Amiga orders have decreased markedly in the last year, and if this decline continues we shall have no option but to cease Amiga support. Some simulations will, therefore, not be supported on the Amiga. These include... Fleet Managers - Class 50, Virgin Cross-Country; Shedmaster - Finsbury Park; Traffic Control: Carlisle 1973, Llandudno 1958 and Liverpool Lime Street 1998.[21/APR/99]
Problems on Very Fast Pentiums - If you run on a fast Pentium II (certainly 300MHz and faster, possibly 266MHz) any of our simulations dated earlier than 27 November 1997, you may find that they fail with a runtime error 200. This is apparently due to a problem in a timing routine within the Borland Pascal library. We have now patched our system to fix this, and recompiled all the programs. If you encounter this problem, please ask for updates. All the sample programs are now available on this site in updated versions to fix this speed problem.[20/DEC/98]
Liverpool Lime Street 1998 - Almost too late for Christmas, we are pleased to announce the availability of our latest simulation. This is a single-screen simulation of the immediate station area, and features the colourful scene at this busy terminus now served by no less than 5 Train Operating Companies (6 if you count Virgin Cross-Country and Virgin West Coast as separate), each with its own livery. Liverpool 1998 is now available for the PC at only 18; we hope to produce a couple more before the next newsletter, so watch this space. [18/DEC/98]
Payment methods now include Switch - if you have to use Switch, please make sure you have the complete number correct, and also state the issuer and issue number.[25/OCT/98]
Autumn 1998 newsletter released. Online version available[25/OCT/98]
Llandudno 1958 - The main news is that we have a new steam era simulation set in the Llandudno area on the North Wales coast. Llandudno 1958 is Platinum, and includes both Llandudno and Llandudno Junction and the entire line connecting them, together with the yard and shed at the Junction, and both weekday and summer Saturday schedules.[28/OCT/98]
Paddington - Exeter 80's - We also have another main line Driver, a second Paddington to Exeter via Westbury, this time set in the eighties[28/OCT/98]
Virgin Cross-Country - We offer you the chance to face the challenge of managing Virgin Cross-country's motive power for a week, with our Virgin Cross-Country Fleet Manager[28/OCT/98]
Due to very low orders over the last year, no future simulations will be available for the ST, and we will discontinue support of the ST from the end of December 1997.[10/NOV/97]
It is now over five years since we last increased prices, and I'm afraid the time has come to respond to the constant increases in costs. We have set a the new prices at a level that should again enable us to hold them for several years, assuming there are no major cost increases beyond inflation. From 1st January 1997, the following prices will apply: [13/OCT/96]
